With LinkedIn’s New Verification Features Including CLEAR And Microsoft Entra, Services Will Be Available And Free To All LinkedIn Members

April 12, 2023/--On LinkedIn, when you show that you're the real you, you'll have an even greater chance of finding the professional opportunities that matter to you and your community. That’s why we introduced verification options in October 2022, and starting today, we’re rolling out three additional ways to verify your identity and where you work. We believe verification should be for everyone on LinkedIn, that’s why every feature will be available and free to all our members.

Here’s what we’re starting to roll out and where it's available:

Verify your identity with CLEAR and show it on your LinkedIn profile. We’re partnering with CLEAR, a secure identity platform, to provide verification for our LinkedIn members in the US. Beginning this month, you can display on your profile that you verified your identity with CLEAR. All you need is a U.S. government-issued ID and U.S. phone number. Here’s what the experience will look like, and if you need a hand getting set up, follow the steps in our Help Center.

Verify where you work with your company email. Given the professional nature of LinkedIn, we want to make sure you can verify your workplace as well. Available now to 50 million members globally on LinkedIn, you can verify where you work using your company-issued email address. There are over 4,000 companies, and this is one more way to demonstrate the authenticity of your profile. Over time we will be rolling this out to more companies and expanding eligibility.

Verify where you work with Microsoft Entra. We are partnering with Microsoft to allow organizations to leverage the Microsoft Entra Verified ID platform to issue digital workplace IDs for free, enabling workers to display the verification on their LinkedIn profile. Rolling out at the end of April, we plan to make this available to dozens of participating companies reaching more than two million LinkedIn members. We’ll continue to expand availability as more companies participate in Entra.

Through all these new, free features, we’re helping give you the confidence that who you’re connecting with and the content you come across is trusted and authentic. While all LinkedIn members globally won’t have access to these verification options immediately, we will expand availability and ways for you to participate over time. We’ll keep you updated as we continue rolling out more features like these.
