NEW YORK--Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has appointed industry leader Karalee Close to lead Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice and join the company’s Global Management Committee, effective immediately.

In this global role, Close will lead and expand Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice, which helps companies and their leaders fuel sustainable growth by connecting people and technology to unlock human ingenuity; finding ways to access, create and unlock new talent; and designing an organization built to thrive amid change. She will lead Accenture’s vision for talent, organization and change agendas across the company’s full range of capabilities and its ecosystem partners and continue to develop assets and offerings to help clients reimagine their workforces, prepare workers with the skills today’s tech revolution requires, and ultimately drive enterprise-wide change with people at the center.

“Talent is the number-one agenda item for CEOs, and as our clients reinvent their organizations with technology, data and AI, they need to not only build their digital cores and change their processes but also, critically, develop new ways of working and reskill and upskill their people,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture. “Karalee brings significant experience in transformations, organization and people, and design, skilling and change solutions that will help us continue to expand our practice and capabilities and drive 360-degree value for our clients. We are thrilled to welcome her to Accenture and our Global Management Committee.”

Close is a respected and innovative leader whose career spans more than two decades of senior regional and global leadership roles while based in Toronto, Paris and London. She brings deep expertise in strategy, technology, people, change and organization, and digital & AI transformation services across global industries and markets, coupled with a highly successful track record of CEO advisory relationships. Most recently, Close was Managing Director & Senior Partner and served as Vice Chair, Tech & Digital at The Boston Consulting Group. She has an accomplished history in helping clients change their organization, operating model and skills to fully maximize benefits of technology deployments. Close is an active supporter of DE&I, women in technology and new ways of working. Prior to joining the Boston Consulting Group, Close held senior management positions in corporate planning and information systems in healthcare.

“Accenture has an ambitious agenda to help companies continuously reinvent their future and enhance performance through technology and talent,” said Karalee Close. “In this era of rapid technological- and AI-enabled change, companies and societies urgently need to reimagine work, to define new approaches to talent, organization and change, and to take care of people in fundamentally different ways. I have always been committed to putting people at the center of change and am excited to play a key role in bringing Accenture’s deep technology capabilities together with new and innovative approaches to talent, human performance and leadership.”

Close received her Master of Business Administration from University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. In addition to leading Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice, Close will serve as a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee and Accenture’s Global Strategy & Consulting group.
