ChatGPT's New Upgrades: OpenAI Announces Six Major Improvements for a Superior User Experience
Aug 3, 2023

OpenAI has just announced on its official Twitter account a series of minor updates to its artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT, aimed at enhancing the user experience. These updates will be gradually rolled out over the next week:

  1. Prompt Examples: OpenAI understands that a blank page can be intimidating for users. Therefore, they've added prompt examples in the new version of ChatGPT. At the start of a new chat, users will now see examples to help them kick-start the conversation.

  2. Suggested Replies: To allow users to delve deeper into topics, ChatGPT now suggests relevant ways to continue the conversation. With just a click, users can explore topics in more depth.

  3. GPT-4 by Default: In the new version, when Plus users start a new chat, ChatGPT will remember the model they previously selected - it will no longer default back to GPT-3.5 but will use the more advanced GPT-4 model by default.

  4. Upload Multiple Files: OpenAI has added the ability to upload multiple files in the new version of ChatGPT. Users can now ask ChatGPT to analyze data and generate insights across multiple files. This feature is available in the Code Interpreter beta version for all Plus users.

  5. Stay Logged In: To enhance user experience, OpenAI has improved its login system. Users will no longer be logged out every two weeks. When they do need to log in, they'll be greeted with a much more welcoming page.

  6. Keyboard Shortcuts: To increase users' work efficiency, OpenAI has added keyboard shortcuts in the new version of ChatGPT. Users can work faster with shortcuts, like ⌘ (Ctrl) + Shift + ; to copy the last code block. They can try ⌘ (Ctrl) + / to see the complete list of shortcuts.

These updates are all aimed at enhancing the ChatGPT experience for users. OpenAI looks forward to users enjoying the convenience these new features bring and welcomes any feedback to help them continuously improve and optimize ChatGPT.
